Oops!
By · CommentsIn the last post we previewed the February Stitch n Bitch Knitalong with the Swallowtail Shawl. Ah Ha! No-one noticed the deliberate mistake. That’s not the Swallowtail – that’s the Travelling Woman and that’s our starter shawl. If you have already rushed out, bought the yarn and started the Swallowtail. do not rip it out – go straight to top of the advanced class and join us on Tuesday just the same. Its all my fault and I am so sorry.
Stitch n Bitch February!
By · CommentsNext Tuesday – 7th February – will be a special Stitch n Bitch! Why special because it will be our first Knit-a-long. We have been asked many times – what’s a Knitalong and now we are going to have one. A great starter shawl; a great introduction to lace knitting; the famous much loved Swallowtail shawl.
There will be help on hand to cast on; understand the abbreviations and to share progress. Its not the Olympics just a chance to do some knitting together and end up with something lovely. If you can’t make the meeting you can join in spirit. the pattern is downloadable from Ravelry; the yarn is fingering; the needles is circular.
Finished shawls will be photographer and put on the blog – what more could you ask. Finished swallowtails knitted with Artisan Yarn will get a discount off the next purchase. See you tuesday knitters.
February Open Studio!
By · CommentsApologies to all who are planning to head to the Studio this weekend but I am still out of action with my jaw and Crochet Sunday has been postponed until March.
HOWEVER: I will be at the Studio between 11 and 1pm on Saturday. If you want to pick up some yarn, escape from the kids or browse the bookshelves come along. You can make your own coffee and help yourselves to biscuits and, hopefully, my disruptive jaw will be back in service for March. Apologies and Happy 1st February.
More Peacocks
By · CommentsTry as I might that last post rejected all additional pics so here is a set of Peacock skeins – you do need two for this humungous shawl.
The link to the pattern is on the right under: Shawls we like!
Pretty as a Peacock
By · CommentsDue to popular demand I have been dyeing up a batch of Peacock Yarns. The shawl is a most amazing project: challenging but not impossible and lots of people who have seen it on the stand and on blog photos have, and are, knitting it. Here are some photos of the recent batch, fresh from the dye
Tulip shawl in the States!
By · CommentsI have just learned that the tulip shawl we supplied yarn to the Knitter for has just been published in the USA. I personally have just planted the tulip bulbs that I should have planted in December – ever an optimist but the yarn is still available and could be knitted just in time for the Spring tulip Show. The cost of the Teifi silky Merino is £15.00 (50%swash merino/50% silk) plus postage and packing.
As I am still having problems with my jaw its best to email me: anneshoring@gmail.com and payment can be by Paypal or by cheque.
Meanwhile the snowdrops are flowering…………….
