OPEN STUDIO OR SPRING FEVER IN THE SHIRE!
Posted by: | CommentsI will be holding an Open Studio on the weekend of 18th and 19th of this month. ii will be de-stashing yarns; wildly reducing knitting books, needles and notebooks.
Also if you sew or have patch working friends there will be a table of fat quarters at a pound a piece.
The studio will be open from 11 am to 3pm. If you have not been before, the studio is on the first floor and not very suitable for small children. Sadly there is no disabled access or toilet, but if you cannot get up the stairs please let me know.
More details to follow. Here is a picture of me drying my bunting after Wonderwool – don’t ask how it got wet as it was not raining and I am just as puzzled as you!
I will post more information and directions before the date!
WONDERFUL WONDERWOOL WALES
Posted by: | CommentsWonderwool Wales in sunshine and often freezing cold was a good event for me. First time I have relied solely on my yarns with no Colinette Yarns or even kits for reasons which many people know.
It was great to be back at the venue of my first show and it was SOooo good to meet up with trading friends, yarnie friends and family who came to the Show to help, to buy and to hug. Lots of hugs folks and it did me a lot of good.
I am now getting my head together for a good show at Woolfest plus immersing myself in the dyebath for a new order for Loop.
Also going to try out some new yarns and new dyes so I will be busy busy busy. here are some pics from the show with Juliet from Artists Palette Yarns spinning one of her stunning fibre braids.
BACK IN THE DYE BUCKET!
Posted by: | CommentsI have picked up my dye buckets and have been dyeing for Wonderwool! The stock will not be huge but it will be special with lots of individually dyed luxury hanks to make your knitting even more special.
In addition to my delicious plant dyed wool there will also be some fabulous fibre from Artists Palette Yarns with my good friend Juliet in attendance. Also on Saturday we will be joined by magic knitter Barbs to answer any knitting queries.
What more can I say? I look forward to seeing Artisan Yarn lovers both old and new. Your support over the past two months have kept me going. Here’s something delicious to whet your appetite!
SADLY…………
Posted by: | CommentsSome people may already know that my beloved husband Tony died last week. It was with Tony’s encouragement that I set up The Small Gallery in Hereford when I was recovering from breast cancer and then when I left the gallery to develop my interest in plant dyeing which became Artisan Yarns.
Due to his final illness I did not attend Unravel but I will be shortly be gathering my dye buckets and plant material and transforming my beautiful yarns once again. I know he wanted me to do that.
The webshop (Yarnworks) is also closed for the time being but by the end of March it will be back up and running with a little help from my friends.
Thanks to those of you who have sent kind messages and cards and I look forward to flying the artisan yarns flag once again throughout 2013. The picture below shows Tony at one of the first shows I attended. (I don’t think the knitting was really his!)
Last minute rummage!
Posted by: | CommentsHi, I had hoped to have an Open Weekend before christmas but alas I am running out of time! However I shall be at The Studio on Sunday Morning this weeek – 10 – 12.30 and you are welcome to come and have a rummage through what’s left after Harrogate.
Stock is a bit low but there is plenty there for imaginative knitters and a 10 per cent discount !
I shall put the board out and remember the Unit is in the road behind the Hopscotch Baby warehouse! There is loads of parking space as well on a Sunday!
