Its on the way – for all frustrated artisan yarnies who want to buy online we have finally decided to put a toe in the water of e-commerce.  Even as I type there are people working away behind the scenes, putting it all together,  Scary, scary!

Our policy all along is that you need to be able to see, feel and sniff our yarns, but sometimes you need to re-order after a show or spend some special birthday money without fighting your way into Hereford, so here’s a chance to do that. In the meantime here is some real wool on legs that I communed with on the weekend.  The ones with the black faces are the Unitarian Sheep, Llanwenogs and the white faces ones which make me think of Agnus Dei are Lleyns and they all live in the Aeron Valley in Ceredigion where I once lived.

wonderwool saturday

What a great day – the sun shone – hundreds of people came and everybody was smiling.  After the initial terror of seeing the big empty space that was ours, it turned out to be a really good idea.  People had time to browse and to move around and have a good look at the yarns and being combined with Artists Palette gave them a wonderful choice to pick and choose over.  I think people were more focussed than last year.  Some came bearing lists and for us it was terrific that people came back.  We especially loved Ravelry Kittyboo’s seashell silk scarf and we shall  be after the pattern for this (posting photos tomorrow)

I cant believe its raining here……………..Sunday a.m.

Apologies to those seeking the indigo silk – we sold much more than we expected but we will be dyeing more soon, so watch this space.

RECUPERATION

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Many, many thanks to everyone for your kind wishes, cards and flowers; especially those who were disappointed to find the gallery closed on Friday and made an extra journey to Hereford on Saturday.

Still awaiting an outcome but hopefully we will be open every day this week.

At this point I will attempt to insert a cheery pic! Yes, I know its a graveyard.  ALL THANKS TO HEREFORD HOSPITAL FOR KEEPING ME OUT OF THERE!

 RECUPERATION

artisan yarns linen lace: crocus collection

this is the first batch of linen lace.  Photos taken in sunlight but in real life they are very crocus.  I hope you will enjoy them and if you want to but one, they are 100gms and 640 meters of fine linen.

There are more photos on Yarnartisanne’s Flickr site.

Not again – I can’t believe it.  Tonight was the Start to Spin event at Gomati’s but the tutors and the participants are snowbound.

After a hair raising drive from Devon, where there isn’t supposed to be snow we skated across the road from Monmouth to Hereford passing : two accidents (one including a police car); two gritters and one snow plough, to finally make it home.

It seems as if every time an event is planned the weather rises against us – can the elements be sending me a message?  Anyhow its off for tonight and a new date will be set as soon as global warming back on target.

Teri is about to receive a purple package which will open to reveal a luscious merino/tencel sock yarn: Zippy from one of our favourite dyers: Yarn Damour Its a bright and shining yarn and I hope she enjoys it and posts a picture of her finished project.
